Welcome to the Madison Community Grocery Project! We are a program of Madison Youth Unlimited, a local nonprofit committed to improving quality of life for Madison area youth and their families.
Our mission is to build an equitable and sustainable local food system that grows community through education and access to delicious, nutritious food.
Through community and school gardens, nutrition and cooking classes, youth programs, and community kitchens, we intend to serve as a hub, centered around good food, for building health and community in Jefferson County. And through our R&D work, we also serve as a support system for farmers and organizations who wish to build a more robust, thriving local food system. Our concept modeling for a student-run farm stop, which inspired the Growing Minds Farm Stop (opening in summer 2025!) is just the first fruit of many seeds our research is planting in this region.
