Our resources are growing, and we can’t wait to put them to use in our community! In December, our nonprofit received two generous grants. We received $8,000 from Jefferson County’s ARPA fund, a grant we requested to support community programming like gardens and cooking classes. This year’s spring programs are the first fruits of that grant, which are just a taste of what’s to come as we grow!

We also received a $30,000 grant from the American Endowment Foundation, made possible by a single generous donor. These funds broadly support our mission, including our community programming and the development of a nonprofit fresh food store in downtown Madison’s food desert. It’s an incredibly encouraging start, and we’re grateful for our friends and neighbors who are willing to put wind in our sails here at our beginnings.

Bolstered by this momentum, we continue meaningful partnership conversations toward the development of a fresh food store downtown and a host of accompanying programs. We’re committed to harnessing the energy and innovation of our community’s youth, coupled with the power of major community institutions, to make a meaningful difference for food access in our community. Every partnership conversation we have grows our vision and our sense of what’s possible. We anticipate a fruitful year of growth and community sharing!
